is “Languages without borders”.

2. Haryana govt to open Atal
Kisan – Majdoor canteens to provide meals at concessional rate
- Haryana
government will open Atal Kisan – Majdoor canteens in all mandis and sugar
mills across the state
- To
provide affordable and cheap meals to farmers and labourers
- At a
concessional rate of 10 rupees per plate.

3. Divya Kakran wins a gold medal
at Asian Wrestling Championships
- became
only the 2nd Indian woman to win a gold medal
- at the
Asian Wrestling Championships defeating junior world champion Naruha Matsuyuki

Kaur had become the 1st Indian woman to win a gold medal at 2018 championship
- Pinki won
gold in 55kg,

Mor won gold in 59kg.

7. International protection for
Great Indian Bustard, Bengal Florican and Asian Elephant
- India’s
proposal to include Great Indian Bustard, Asian Elephant and Bengal Florican in
Appendix I of UN Convention on migratory species
- Proposal
accepted at the 13th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Migratory
Species in Gandhinagar.
- Govt has
declared Indian elephant as National Heritage Animal
8. Indian Railways launches joint
research initiatives with University of Birmingham
- The
programme that has been launched leads to dual M.Sc. that would see NRTI
students obtaining two post graduate degrees from both institutions,

spending a year studying at each institution from academic year 2020-2021
- National
Rail Transport Institute was set up in 2018 at Vadodara.

engineer behind ‘cut, copy and paste’, passes away
- Larry
Tesler, commonly known as the developer of the ‘cut, copy and paste’ functions,
and ‘find and replace’,

user-friendliness in applications like the word processor,
- Died at
the age of 74
- He was
also one of the pioneers of modeless computing
11. P V Sindhu wins 3rd
successive ESPN’s Female Sportsperson of the Year award
- ESPN’s
