- R K Chaturvedi, IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, assumed charge as Secretary Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
- He was serving as an Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Culture.
- R K Chaturvedi has replaced P Raghavendra Rao.
4. Govt unveils PM SVANIDHI scheme to provide affordable loans to street vendors
- The Union Government has launched PM SVANIDHI – Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi.
- PM SVANIDHI – a special micro-credit facility scheme for providing affordable loan to street vendors.
- It is aimed at enabling the street vendors to resume their livelihood.
- The scheme targets to benefit over 50 lakh street vendors.
5. Shri Pradip Kumar Tripathi Assumes Charge as Secretary in Ministry of Steel
- 1987 batch IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) cadre, Pradip Kumar Tripathi took over the charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Steel.
- He was a Special Secretary and Establishment Officer in the Department of Personal Training.
- He succeeds Binoy Kumar.

6. PMBJKs achieves sales of over Rs 100 crore in first two months of 2020-21
- Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushdhi Kendra’s has achieved sales of Rs 100.40 Crore in first two months of 2020-21 as compared to Rs 44.60 Crore in the same period of 2019-20.

8. Three more states included in One Nation One Ration Card scheme
- Odisha, Sikkim and Mizoram are the three more states that have been included under the One Nation One Ration Card scheme.
- Consumer Affairs Minister announced the inclusion of these states in the scheme on Integrated Management of Public Distribution System
- The facility is enabled in 17 States and UTs so far.
9. Lakshmi Vilas Bank CEO gets extension
- Reserve Bank of India has approved the extension of tenure for Lakshmi Vilas Bank’s MD and CEO, Subramanian Sundar by six months.
- This is the second extension given to Mr Subramanian Sundar who was the MD & CEO (interim) from January 1, 2020, to April 30.
- Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) is headquartered in Chennai.
10. DRDO develops Ultra Swachh for disinfection of PPEs and other materials
- Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), the Delhi based laboratory of DRDO developed a disinfection unit, Ultra Swachh.
- Ultra Swachh disinfects a wide range of materials, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), electronics items, fabrics, etc.
- DRDO partnered with M/s Gel Craft Healthcare Private Ltd.
11. International archer-turned-coach Nanoma dies in accident
- A former international archer-turned-coach Jayantilal Nanoma died in a road mishap in Rajasthan.
- Nanoma has many gold and silver medals to his credit in national and international tournaments.
