1. SpaceX launches ‘Falcon Heavy’ – world’s most powerful rocket on Space Force mission
- The secretive USSF-44 mission, the first operational national security mission for Falcon Heavy, is being launched by SpaceX’s rocket for the American Space Force.
- Full form of the USSF is the United States Space Force.
- The rocket was launched from NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
- The Space Test Program-2 (STP-2) mission, launched in June 2019, carried experimental satellites on a test flight for the Pentagon.
- The Falcon Heavy mission was the 1st in more than three years by Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
- The Falcon Heavy is the tallest and most powerful rocket presently in use.

2. DoT OKs 42 firms for telecom products PLI, incl 17 for design PLI
- The ministry of communications has expanded the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for telecom and networking products with a total of 42 companies, including 28 medium and small enterprises (MSMEs), cleared for receiving sops for a total investment of Rs 4,115 crore.
- Samsung, Nokia, Jabil, Rising Star (Foxconn) and Flextronics as well as local players like HFCL, ITI, VVDN and Tejas Networks are among the selected companies under the scheme.
- A total of 31 companies were given approval on October 14, 2021 for the scheme.

3. SEBI issued guidelines pertaining to standardise usage of rating scales used by credit rating agencies(CRAs)
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) issued a statement pertaining to the standardization of rating scales used by credit rating agencies(CRAs).
- The circular will come into effect on 1 January 2023.
- CRAs will then have to report to SEBI their compliance with norms as ratified by their boards of directors within one quarter from date of applicability.

- It is also called a ratings service, is a company that assigns credit ratings, which rate a debtor’s ability to pay back debt by making timely principal and interest payments and the likelihood of default.

4. Puneeth Rajkumar conferred ‘Karnataka Ratna’ posthumously
- Karnataka’s highest civilian award the ‘Karnataka Ratna’ was conferred posthumously on late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, on the occasion of the 67th Kannada Rajyotsava (the state formation day).
- He is the 9th recipient of this prestigious honour.
- The Karnataka Ratna award consists of a full silver plaque and a 50-gram gold medal.

- A locally developed genetically modified (GM) mustard variety, has received Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC), a state-run biotech regulator, recommendation for commercial cultivation.

11. UP’s Ranipur tiger reserve becomes 53rd tiger reserve of India, confirms minister Bhupender Yadav
- Uttar Pradesh’s Ranipur Tiger Reserve has become the 53rd tiger reserve of India.
- The tiger reserve is spread across over 529.36 sq km, of which the core area is 230.32 sq km and buffer area is 299.05 sq km.
- Besides this, it is also the fourth tiger reserve in Uttar Pradesh.
- Apart from Ranipur, the state has three tiger reserves – Dudhwa, Pilibhit and Amangarh.
