1. Centre approves Rs 51,875 crore for P&K fertilizer for Rabi 2022-23
- The Centre has approved an additional fertilizer subsidy of Rs 51,875 crore for the rabi or winter planting season, which runs from October 2022 to March 2023.
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the new nutrient-based subsidy (NBC) rates for phosphatic and potassic fertilisers.
- This will enable availability of all P&K fertilizers to the farmers during Rabi 2022-23 at the subsidized / affordable prices.

- Under the NBS policy, a fixed rate of subsidy (in Rs per Kg basis) is announced on nutrients namely Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), Potash (K) and Sulphur (S) by the government on an annual basis.
2. DRDO carries out maiden test of Phase-II of ballistic missile defence
- The AD-1 is a long-range interceptor missile designed for both low exo-atmospheric and endo-atmospheric interception of long-range ballistic missiles as well as aircraft.
- It is propelled by a two-stage solid motor and equipped with the indigenously-developed advanced control system, navigation, and guidance algorithm to precisely guide the vehicle to the target,.

- Unemployment rate in India surged last month on the back of significant increase in rural unemployment rate, reversing the decline registered in September.
- The data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy shows the unemployment rate in India stood at 7.77% in October compared to a four-year low of 6.43% in September.

- The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) announced Subhrakant Panda as its President-Elect, who is currently serving as FICCI’s Senior Vice President.

- Annie Abraham has been appointed as the IG of the blue duangree donning Rapid Action Force (RAF) while Seema Dhundia has been posted as the IG of the Bihar Sector.

- Carnatic vocalist Aruna Sairam will be conferred the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Merite, the Knight of the Order of the Merit, by the French government.

- Aruna Sairam has received many awards, including the Padma Shri and the Sangeetha Kalanidhi Award.
11. GSK India names Bhushan Akshikar as Managing Director

12. Union Cabinet approves naming new Hollongi Airport as ‘Donyi Polo Airport’
- The Union Cabinet, chaired by Narendra Modi, has approved the naming of Greenfield Airport at Hollongi, Itanagar as “Donyi Polo Airport”.
- The resolution was passed by the State Government of Arunachal Pradesh to name the airport as ‘Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar’, which reflects the people’s reverence of the Sun (Donyi) and the Moon (Polo).

- This project is being developed by Airports Authority of India (AAI) with the help of the central government and the Arunachal Pradesh government at a cost of ₹646 crore.
- With a 2,300 metre runway, the greenfield airport is the first in Arunachal Pradesh to have the capacity to land big aircraft.
