1. UP: Bhartaul becomes first village in state to have RO water in every household

• As part of the Adarsh Gram Panchayat initiative, Bhartaul village in Bareilly district has become the first village in the state to have RO water in every household.
• The village is already established under ‘Adarsh Gram Panchayat’.
• Four ROs plants have been installed to provide clean water to all.
• More plants will be set up.
• It will save people from water-borne diseases.
• What is RO water filtering?
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology used to filter out large particles and unwanted molecules such as contaminants and sediments like salt, dirt, and chlorine from drinking water.

2. Barack Obama wins Emmy award for his narration in Netflix documentary

• The former President of the United States Barack Obama won an Emmy Award on Saturday for his narration in the Netflix documentary “Our Great National Parks”.
• Obama already has two Grammys and is now halfway to an EGOT.
• Dwight D Eisenhower was the first US President to win an Emmy Award.

• The book ‘Divorce and Democracy: A History of Personal Law in Post-Independence India’ talks about family law, religion, and gender politics in India.

4. Cyber security exercise ‘Synergy’: CERT-In conducts it for 13 countries in collaboration with CSA Singapore

• Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) under Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, in collaboration with Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), successfully designed & conducted the cybersecurity exercise ‘Synergy’ for 13 countries as part of the International Counter Ransomware Initiative- Resilience Working Group.

• Global coffee giant Starbucks has named Indian-origin Laxman Narasimhan as its next chief executive officer, replacing Howard Schultz, who will continue as the company’s interim chief until April 2023.
