3. Tushar Mehta re-named Solicitor General for three years, KK Venugopal Attorney General for a year
  • Appointments Committee has approved the re-appointment of senior advocate Tushar Mehta as Solicitor General for a period of 3 years.
  • Senior advocate K.K. Venugopal has also been reappointed to the post of Attorney General for India for a period of 1 year.
  • New Additional Solicitor Generals (ASGs) for SC for a period of 3 years are also appointed.

4. Government bans 59 mobile apps prejudicial to sovereignty & integrity of India
  • Electronics and IT Ministry said in a release that Government has banned 59 mobile apps which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.
  • The banned apps include TikTok, Helo and WeChat.

5. Durga Shanker Mishra launches the Beta version of PM SVANidhi Portal
  • Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary in Housing & Urban Affairs, launched the Beta version of PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi ‘PM SVANidhi’ Portal.
  • Portal provides for an integrated end to end IT interface to users for availing benefits under the scheme.
  • PM SVANidhi was launched on 1 June 2020.

6. India & World Bank signs loan agreement for 1st TN Housing Sector Strengthening Programme
  • The Government of India, the Government of Tamil Nadu and the World Bank signed legal agreements for two projects- $200 million.
  • 1st Tamil Nadu Housing Sector Strengthening Programme and $50 million. Tamil Nadu Housing and Habitat Development Project
  • Loan Maturity 20 years including a grace period of 3.5 years.

7. Government announces launch of seven-year floating rate savings bonds
  • Government has announced the launch of seven-year Floating Rate Savings Bonds, 2020 (Taxable) scheme commencing from 1st July.
  • Bonds will enable a person resident in India or Hindu Undivided Family to invest in a taxable bond, without any monetary ceiling.
  • The interest on the bonds is payable semi-annually.

8. June 30- last date for payment of dues under Sabka Vishwas Scheme, 2019: CBIC
  • CBIC said that 30 June is the last date for payment of dues under Sabka Vishwas (Legacy Dispute Resolution) Scheme, 2019.
  • The main objective of the scheme is to free the large number of small taxpayers of their pending disputes with the tax administration.
  • CBIC is a part of the Department of Revenue.

9. Mizoram celebrates 34th anniversary of Mizo peace accord on June 30
  • In Mizoram, the people are celebrating the 34th anniversary of the signing of the historic Mizo peace accord on 30 June.
  • The peace accord was signed between the Union government and the erstwhile underground Mizo National Front (MNF) on 30th June in 1986.

  • A concession agreement for the first Indo-Bhutan joint venture hydroelectric project was signed, paving the way for the commencement of its construction and other related works.
  • The 600 MW run-of-the-river project is located in the Kholongchhu river.
  • The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
